Dark and mysterious with an alluring sparkle
Is that light at the end of the tunnel me about to start on the last of a stack of deposition transcripts? Huh? Is it? So that I can begin to plan my Thanksgiving menus and look forward to my favorite holiday?
Or is it merely the twinkle of my recently-acquired pirate tumbler with rhinestone skull-and-crossbones and jet-bead black eyes?
I got it at TJ Maxx for two ninety-nine plus tax.
What does it contain in the above picture, you may ask?
It is a low-calorie, low-fat chocolate banana milkshake.
You make it by putting one cup of ice-cold 1% milk into your blender. Add several chunks of frozen banana, a heaping tablespoon (or two) of Hershey's unsweetened cocoa powder, and a packet of Splenda.
Blend until smooth and ice-creamy.
Rather nice when you need a little something in the late-ish evening after you've eaten virtuously all day and don't want to ruin it.
Yum yum. All gone.
In other seasonal news, do your best to ignore the needless apostrophe in the title of this hilarious clip from Everybody Loves Raymond.
It's worth it to see the ever-beleaguered Debra Barone rassle a cold, uncooperative turkey into the oven while a hapless Ray stands by in stunned silence.
We'll be doing our own tangoes with turkeys in just a few days!
Speaking of cold turkey, guess I'd better get my oven fixed. It's newly on the fritz.

I'm on my third oven in this house. I'm sure I blogged about it somewhere. Anyway. I have a vague memory that one of them died the week OF Thanksgiving. Completely died. Not a spark. Stupid circuit board. So don't tell me about fritzy ovens!!!!!
Rant over. Hooray for you for eating virtuously. Every time I eat virtuously I ruin it before bed. It's like a rule. Sue's rules of dieting.
The virtuous drink looks pretty good and I love the mug. It's perfect for you!
The clip was great too - gotta love Ray!
@Sue ... oddly enough, last time I had oven problems it was on Thanksgiving DAY! I'm glad I got advance notice this time. Such a pain. I think I am very familiar with Sue's Rules of Dieting but the way I break them is, I don't keep anything in the house that will tempt me! Therefore I eat only to live and not the other way around. I've lost 10 pounds since you saw me.
@Mari ... Ray makes me laugh every time. I love it. And isn't my pirate vessel perfect? Its so much fun to drink (or eat) from!
On your drink, it sounds very similar to one I have made for years. I use the milk, banana, ice, Nestle's Quick sugar free chocolate with Splenda, and 1/2 teaspoon Hershey DARK baking chocolate powder, blend and enjoy. This is very healthy.
As to Thanksgiving, I don't have to cook, YEAH!
Love that Mug Girl!
And LOVED the clip! I miss that show.....reruns just aren't the same.
