Insist on yourself; never imitate.
Your own gift you can present
every moment
with the cumulative force
of a whole life’s cultivation;
but of the adopted talent of another
you have only an extemporaneous
half possession.
That which each can do best,
none but his Maker can teach him.

Ecstatically shooting everything in sight using my beloved Nikon D3100 with AF-S DX Nikkor 18-55mm 1:3.5-5.6G VR kit lens and AF-S Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 G prime lens.
Also capturing outrageous beauty left and right with my Nikon D7000 blissfully married to my Nikkor 85mm f/1.4D AF prime glass. Don't be jeal.
And then there was the Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-200mm f:3.5-5.6G ED VR II zoom. We're done here.

When I am gone
Please remember me
As a heartfelt laugh,
As a tenderness.
Hold fast to the image of me
When my soul was on fire,
The light of love shining
Through my eyes.
Remember me when I was singing
And seemed to know my way.
Remember always
When we were together
And time stood still.
Remember most not what I did,
Or who I was;
Oh please remember me
For what I always desired to be:
A smile on the face of God.
Do not regret growing older. It is a privilege denied to many.

Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not;
But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.
But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:
In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake.
For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.
We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;
Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;
Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.
For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh.
So then death worketh in us, but life in you.
We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I BELIEVED, AND THEREFORE HAVE I SPOKEN; we also believe, and therefore speak;
Knowing that he which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you.
For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God.
For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.
For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;
While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
II Corinthians 4

Freedom is a fragile thing and is never more than one generation away from extinction. It is not ours by inheritance; it must be fought for and defended constantly by each generation, for it comes only once to a people. Those who have known freedom and then lost it, have never known it again.

Gentle hugs to you, my Dear....
On the Birthday of your lovely Mother...
Your mom was so beautiful, and she looks so full of JOY!!
In loving memory on your Mom's birthday in Heaven. My Mom celebrated her 1st birthday in Heaven Sept 8 2020 - she passed on 11/7/2019, 14 months after my Dad in August 2018. I know you miss your Mom. Oh - and I flunked charm school too... been a worry to some and a joy to others since 1957 too. LOL.
What a gorgeous photo of you both. I especially love the color of your mother’s outfit. Was this for one of your children’s wedding? I enjoyed clicking the link and reading more. What an amazing lady and a wonderful legacy with all those grands and great grands.
Happy Heavenly Birthday to her!
Love and hugs to you today. That's a beautiful photo of you two and I think that verse is a great comfort.
@Mari-Nanci ... Thank you my dear friend! xoxo
@Ginny ... She definitely was full of joy! Always smiling and laughing. She enjoyed her life and especially enjoyed her birthdays! xoxo
@Dawn ... WELCOME to IHATH and wow, we have a lot in common! I love meeting other charm school flunkies, Haaahahaha! Yes I do miss her; we are with Henry (her husband of 37 years; my father died young) this weekend and I just spent some time in Mom's closet, where all of her little dresses still hang and her little sandals lie on the floor. I know you miss your mom and dad too but the best thing is, we never die as long as there is someone to remember us. xoxo
@Bijoux ... Thank you and guess what? She was buried in that outfit. That was May 4, 2018, the day of our Erica's wedding. One day last fall when we were planning Mom's funeral, I asked her what she wanted to wear and she said, the dress I wore to Erica's wedding. It was her prettiest ensemble. Thank you for taking the time to read about her! xoxo
@Mari ... Thanks, my friend. We were fortunate to have the moms that we had. xoxo
Happy heavenly birthday to your mom. My mom's is September 13th. Hugs to you my friend.
Such a great picture of the two of you, Jenny! What a sweet Godly woman she was! I read her eulogy. What a fantastic legacy she left! It does sadden me though that no one came forward to help her when she went to the altar at age 13. Good wake up call to be alert for ways to share our faith. Glad she did come to have such a great relationship with the Lord. Wow, so many grands and great grands! Truly a blessing indeed!
Thank you for sharing her with us. Again, I am so sorry for your loss.
That scripture is my "to go to" scripture to share with those who have lost loved ones who know the Lord. I "discovered" it the week after my mom died. At that time I was reading the Bible straight through and I was in the Book of Psalms so I just happened to be in Psalm 116. It brought me great comfort (and of course tears :)
Take care,
Betty
Prayers as you remember special memories today. The photo is lovely.

@Jeanette ... Thanks my friend! We had a good time celebrating her this past weekend. I will share all of it on the blog. We have only one mom and when they're gone, it's a great comfort to remember the good times. xoxo
@betty ... Thank you for taking the time to read Mom's page! Yes she was really something. We miss her so much. Amazing how you "happened" to be reading in Psalm 116 the week after your mom went to be with the Lord. Such a comforting passage. xoxo
@Carla ... Thank you my friend. xoxo
Hello lovely ladies, both with such contagious smiles that I must smile too. A happy/sad day to remember your Mother, Jenny. Missing her, yet glad that she is still smiling in Heaven.
@Barb ... Indeed she is smiling more than ever, and in perfect peace. It's good to remind ourselves of that, often! I can only imagine. xoxo
